If you’ve ever gotten stuck, that’s normal. And when things aren’t working, it’s easy to have negative thoughts and consider quitting. But if you ever get to a point in your business where you think it’s just not working for you, push a little more. Hold parties and move forward—don’t quit at the bottom.

Reasons You Might Get Stuck

People get stuck in their business for many reasons, including:

  • Personal or family illness
  • They stopped doing things that brought success in the first place
  • They never built up enough momentum to keep going
  • They focused on the wrong things

Are You Focused on the “Wrong” Tasks?

It’s easy to get mired down in busywork that doesn’t earn income, such as:

  • Posting on social media
  • Doing giveaways no one is interested in
  • Creating graphics because it’s fun
  • Changing the party template, even though you only tried it once before
  • Helping a team member who has no specific goals

These tasks are not necessarily wrong but may not produce success and results.

Decide to move your business forward and GET UNSTUCK.

How to Find Your Motivation

Take action and focus on the core income-producing activities of booking, selling, and recruiting. You may have to start small, but the important thing is to begin. One of the biggest reasons people have false starts is they try to go too big too soon. Start small, and build on your successes for long-term gains.

Booking Reach Outs

Connect with your customers with a set number of reach outs per day. If you aren’t doing any, try just three. Set yourself an easily achievable goal because you are working on building a core habit that will deliver results.

Stuck in a Rut

Maybe you’ve had a lot of success but have hit a temporary slump. Or your slump might be deeper than that and come with feelings of irritation, stress, worry, and even anger. These feelings can make even a simple booking call feel bad. Make that booking call easier by checking in with your mentor or scheduling a one-on-one with your upline to rediscover the excitement and energy.

How to Maintain Your Motivation

An event can help you zoom ahead, but when it’s over, you grind to a halt and struggle to get started again. Motivation levels drop when we do less. Doing something is how you get motivated! Act with income-producing activities to keep things going. ARM yourself for success with Action, Reward, and Motivation.

Take the Challenge

Challenge yourself to book three more parties this month. Then, reward yourself for completing this challenge. Take a moment to feel proud and focus on the intrinsic value inside of you by:

  • Writing down your personal values, such as faith, family, or service
  • Tracking your accomplishments on a calendar for a visual reward
  • Rewarding yourself before the task by imagining how you’ll feel after
  • Not rewarding bad behavior
  • Stopping negative self-talk

Take action on your income-producing activities and do them consistently until they become easy. Then, add more. Work toward chaos, then regroup to create a system.
